Marv Cameras of IIT Chicago IL was doing 9 channels in the 70s when Quad was new. I think that is used at EPCOT, for the the surround shows today.

How they managed to recreate a modern recording with a Master Tape.

When Sgt Peppers was done . They used a 4 track machine. And they use the layer technique.

This makes for a thick sound. Fortunately they kept all the layers(tapes) separately in storage.

They remixed using each layer on a multi track deck this time . Giving it this incredible dynamic range and clarity.

If you have not heard the CD version of The Beatles Love go and buy it it's worth it and also the 5.1 DVD sound version.

Thanks again Convergence, i was able to find a nifty little boxed set of the audio cd AND dvd at amazon.

There are a few tracks that will give you goose bumps, it's THAT GOOD! I listened to all 25 tracks in one sitting, and will likely do it again before the weekend is over.

I'd go as far as to call it the Beatle's "audiophile" album.

They played about 7 songs on FM before the release
in November.Noon hour special Beatles on CHOM FM .I couldn't believe my ears.

Now I have to get the CD this week.
